Some more striking aspects of life in rural Rajasthan which we were able to notice were easy smile on the faces of people and the importance of music in their culture. While we were on our visit to the beautiful Jain temple at Lodurva near Jaisalmer, this singer was sitting there outside the gates singing, “Kesariya Balam, aao re .. padhaaro maare des …” in his rich sonorous voice. It was his infectious inviting smile that got us and we sat there for sometime to listen to him. Other than us, his goat was the only audience present there..
