Gujarat Chronicles III: Day at the Museum – Baroda Museum

Living is like tearing through a museum. Not until later do you really start absorbing what you saw, thinking about it, looking it up in a book, and remembering – because you can’t take it in all at once.

Although I spent almost a day in Baroda, due to incessant rains and more because of my own acute laziness, I did not venture out to see many places, not even the famous palace of Baroda. Some other time.
But one place which I managed to see was the Baroda Museum and Art Gallery situated in the Sayaaji Baagh. I must say, the collection was very impressive! Galleries upon galleries from India, China, Tibet, Japan, Europe and Egypt, well-preserved paintings; this place was a treat to watch! The best thing was that photography was allowed inside the museum and art gallery after obtaining proper permission. So my time was mostly spent clicking away to glory. Now when I look at the pics, I find that in spite of low light, many of them have turned out really well.

This small post is actually a prologue to the gallery I have uploaded on Flickr. Hope you would like the photographs and visit the Museum if you happen to be in Baroda, the place definitely deserves a dekho.
