Manila or “Maynila” is the capital city of the Philippines and is one of the sixteen cities that comprise Metro Manila. This city may not be as modern as its other Asian counterparts but the diverse culture and rich history make it an equally interesting destination. There are many historic establishments located here that are frequented by tourists both local and foreign. One of which is Intramuros. Founded in 1571 by the Spanish conquistador Miguel Lopez de Legaspi, this place has become one of the cities’ most common tourist attraction. Families and couples who want to witness old Spanish structures will surely enjoy their time here. Another popular attraction here is the Luneta Park. This is where Jose Rizal’s monument (Philippine’s national hero) is located. One can relax and watch the beautiful sunset over the Manila bay here.

This city is not only popular for its various architectures and places, but also for its delicacies. Right in the streets of Manila, you will find the famous “fish ball” and “isaw” (chicken and pork intestine) that will surely delight your taste buds. Both locals and tourists alike can enjoy this delicious street food while traversing the busy streets of Manila. People looking for a great place to dine should find time to visit Binondo, the world’s oldest Chinatown. Here, one can enjoy authentic Chinese cuisines.

Undoubtedly, Manila is one of the cities where you and your loved ones can experience a different kind of vacation–one that is memorable and exciting. Truly, it’s more fun in the Philippines!
